Places Within Walking or Biking Distance of Your Potential Griffin Home

Family biking - paid

Moving to a new home can be an exciting experience, especially if you are moving several hours away from where you previously lived. If you are the sort of person who likes to bike or walk places, along with the excitement of your new home can come the worry that there will be nothing fun to do within walking or biking distance of where you will now live. If you are considering a move to Arcadia, and you want to be able to walk or bike to places near your home, Griffin might be the perfect community for you.

Education

If you have a pre-k or kindergarten child, Wonder Years Montessori School is directly across the street from Griffin, making it a convenient daily walk to drop your child or children off at school. Most reviewers on both Yelp and GreatSchools highly praised the school, many saying that the school helped their child or children to succeed in higher levels of education.

The Arcadia Public Library is about two miles from Griffin. While this might be a little long to walk with small children, a two-mile bike ride should not be too hard, even for many elementary school children. Plus, if you have a basket on your bike, you can put the books and other items in it.

Outdoor Fun

Whether you are looking for a place where the kids can play outside during summer vacation, or you want to play tennis with friends, Live Oak Park is about a mile from Griffin. While you might want to drive there if you are carrying quite a bit of sports equipment or bringing food to eat at one of the shelters, if you are only bringing a few things to the park, you can walk or bike to the park.

Live Oak Park has many of the amenities you would expect at a community park. This includes a playground, tennis courts, picnic shelters, basketball courts, and athletic fields. It can be a great place to keep the kids or yourself entertained for hours on a regular basis. Throughout the year, the park also plays host to a variety of events you can enjoy with your family and friends.

Temple City Park, which hosts the annual Concerts in the Park series throughout the summer, is just a little farther away than Live Oak Park from Griffin. The concerts include free live entertainment as well as food you can buy. This can be a fun experience for the whole family. You could also go to the park to enjoy the playground, the picnic area, or other Temple City Park facilities.

Food and Beverages

There are several places to get food and drinks within a short walk, bike, or drive of Griffin. They include markets, grocery stores, fast food places, and even nicer restaurants. Chatime, is located in a plaza just a minute or two from Griffin. They specialize in different teas, although they also have smoothies and a few other items on the menu. One thing some customers really like is that you can pick the amount of ice and sugar in your drink.

Located in the same plaza as Chatime is Hot Point Hot Pot, an Asian all-you-can-eat restaurant with soups, meat, veggies, and an assortment of other foods. With it so close to Griffin, you can go there for lunch or dinner when you have not fixed food yet, and you really want to eat now.

Of course, these are only a few of the places within walking or biking distance of Griffin and only a sampling of what Arcadia and the surrounding cities have to offer. If you are ready to make Griffin your new home, contact us. We have townhouses available with two, three, or four bedrooms.
