Before & After

Century Village is 2.67-acre property located in the heart of Garden Grove that is designed to attract young professionals and families into a dynamic urban environment. The community features 53 spacious three- and four-bedroom bedroom townhomes priced from the low $400,000s in close proximity to freeways, award-winning schools, neighborhood events and amenities.
Completed
The official groundbreaking ceremony was in October, 2010, and the projected opening will be July or August 2011.
How did we do?
“Our Agency depends upon competent and knowledgeable residential builders like Brandywine Homes, to successfully carry out residential renewal programs in our community.”
– Matt Fertal, City Manager, City of Garden Grove
Key Challenge
Working with the City of Garden Grove to establish a new product type that would meet the unique needs of buyers in this market was a real challenge. Extended families needed more space and additional parking. So Brandywine designed large townhomes with family-friendly floor plans, many with three-car garages – a rarity in any market.
Background
Brandywine Homes began negotiating with Garden Grove in 2008 to rescue a property with multiple owners in the heart of the Century Triangle area. It had been abandoned by a number of developers during the downturn in the housing market.
Results
Garden Grove was seeking a high-impact development that made a statement about the ongoing revival of its city core. Century Village met the challenge with a distinguished, walkable community complete with “urban trails” close to Main Street, restaurants and shopping for residents.
