Covington in Yorba Linda, California is Where Presidential Meets Residential

Is it a stretch to describe Covington in Yorba Linda, California, as presidential? After all, this newest Brandywine Homes development boasts executive style with houses featuring up to five bedrooms and three baths, open floor plans with fireplaces, and refined exteriors. Inside, the GE stainless steel appliances, oversized tile showers, and upgraded baseboard and door moldings should please any first family, especially yours.

A Famous Library

Directly across the street is the multi-columned grandeur of the Richard Nixon Library and Museum, an archive of Yorba Linda’s most famous native son. Its hallowed halls include a replica of the East Room and the Lincoln Sitting Room in the White House, President Nixon’s farmhouse birthplace, and his limousine and helicopter. There’s even a gift shop that sells presidential souvenirs.

Education

But the neighborhood around you consists of more than this prestigious institution. The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District averages 30 National Merit and Commended Scholars every year. So far, 24 of its schools are considered California Distinguished Schools, five are National Blue Ribbon Schools, and the high schools are often ranked as “America’s Best High Schools” by US News, Newsweek and other organizations.

As for higher education, it’s just a short drive to Cal State Fullerton, seen by US News as among the “Top Public Regional Universities;” Fullerton College, which is a highly ranked transfer institution; and Chapman University, which has produced a Nobel laureate and Hollywood filmmakers. Budding lawyers can learn at Chapman, as well as Western State University College of Law.

Basics

When it’s time to tend to the basics, Stater Brothers is just a 10-minute walk east from your home. Taking about the same time to reach going west, Sprouts has natural and organic groceries. If you prefer your fruits and veggies fresh from the farm, check out the farmer’s market that appears every Saturday morning a half mile away near Old Town.

Covington’s location on Yorba Linda Boulevard puts you within walking or driving distance of hardware stores, barber shops,  restaurants, and boutiques, among other retailers.

Fun

Because you live in Orange County, you’re in the middle of one of the world’s tourist destinations. Easily the best known attraction near you is Disneyland, the “Happiest Place on Earth.” Sports lovers can enjoy baseball at Angels Stadium, hockey at the Honda Center, or play a round or two at Black Gold Golf Club.

Knott’s Berry Farm thrills visitors with no less than 10 roller coasters. For music, the House of Blues entertains with live performances most days of the week. Need a laugh? Then catch top-ranked comedians at the Brea Improv. If you’d rather pursue more scholarly activities, admire the rotating exhibits at the Fullerton Museum Center or expand your brain at the Discovery Science Center.
