Local inspiration: Madrona Marsh Preserve & Nature Center

Only a short drive from Upton, and right here on the South Bay, there is a wonderful oasis full of tranquility, nature, learning, and beauty. The Madrona Marsh Preserve & Nature Center in Torrance is a wonderful place to take a break from work and enjoy the great outdoors. It’s free to visit and open to the public. Here you’ll find a paradise of native and non-native birds to watch in their natural habitat. Check in at the Nature Center and take a relaxing stroll along the self-guided trail. They also offer docent tours. There’s so much to see here including native plants & flowers, ducks, frogs, reptiles, dragonflies, monarch butterflies, hawks, and so much more. At least 101 species in the Preserve have received special status and re protected by the law which means they are irreplaceable. There are also volunteer opportunities available. Enjoy the beauty of nature close to home when you live at Upton! To find even more cool places near our beautiful new townhome community, check out the Upton Interactive Vicinity Map.
