Orange County Register: “20 new homes debut in Anaheim”

Sept. 20, 2016

Homebuilder Brandywine Homes has had quick sales response to 20 new homes it recently debuted along the Santa Ana River in Anaheim.

The LakeHouse community features detached homes with four bedrooms and three bathrooms in floor plans that run from 2,100 square feet to 2,800 square feet. Prices start in the low $700,000s.

Alex Hernandez, Brandywine’s homebuilding president, said in the first month the builder has nine sales contracts at LakeHouse, located on a curved slice of land that was once water-utility property. The homes overlook a waterfront trail that Brandywine has helped to upgrade.

“It required a bit of imagination,” says Hernandez of the project’s planning, which like many small “in-fill” projects within established neighborhoods can be tricky.

Orange County builders are enjoying their best sales year in a decade. In 2016’s first eight months, 2,864 new homes sold countywide, up 29 percent from 2015 – the fastest start of a year since 2006.

Brandywine also has a new project in Yorba Linda, the 28-home “Provence” community that opened earlier this year.

The builder says eight homes are under contract to be sold at the Yorba Linda project. It features homes with three to four bedrooms and three bathrooms in floor plans that run from 1,800 square feet to 2,000 square feet. Prices start in the low $700,000s.
